Here are the member biographies of Career Assistant – Houston Chapter Preparation Committee.

President: Yinghui Li

Yinghui Li is the president and co-founder for InPetro Technologies Inc., specialized in reserve evaluation, EOR and unconventional resources, after getting his Ph.D. degree in reservoir engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and previously a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from Tsinghua University. He has 10+ years’ experience in practicing geoscience and petroleum engineering in many regions in the world, and particularly in the Americas. Aside from professional endeavors, he is keen in volunteerism, and has led the Overseas China Education Foundation Houston Chapter since 2011. He’d like to expand the platform for networking opportunities and professional and personal development for dedicated members at Career Assistant.

Vice President: Yuanye Xia

Yuanye Xia is currently an executive manager at an international firm. He obtained his Master’s degrees in MIS from both Stevens Institute of Technology and HeFei University of Technology. He is a keen young professional expert in J2EE C# and web development with strong problem solving ability, business analysis skills, and skillful in time management and GTD methodology. He would love to contribute his energy to build strong connections between Chinese young professionals, especially for those who live in north america, and to benefit their career development.

Secretary: Pingping Fan

Pingping Fan is a motivated newly graduated Mechanical Engineer with EIT(FE) certification and engineering Master’s degree from Stevens Institute of Technology, proficient in CAD software SolidWorks/AutoCAD, and has 4 national utility model patents during the past working experience. She is a great team player and a lady of action, who has a keen on platform building and spreading. She is taking charge of the secretary position in Career Assistant – Houston Chapter (CAHC), whose mainly focuses are documentation and activities supervision. Jiabiao Ruan


Dr. Jiabiao Ruan is currently a senior mechanical engineer, working for a large energy service company in Houston. He received his Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from University of Houston, and bachelor degree in mechanical engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China. Beyond his career professional, he is also devoted to community services. As a co-founder of Career Assist Houston Chapter (CAHC), he is currently in charge of chapter human resource. He would like to build a large local social network for Chinese in Houston and integrate resources to help them succeed in their professional career. Dr. Ruan can be reached at

Xiaofei Yue

Xiaofei Yue is currently an operations analyst at an international firm. She graduated with MS degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering at University of Florida.

Brian Liu

Mr. Brian Liu is working at Kinder Morgan as a Senior Analyst. He is an active community leader and has contributed to numerous services in different sectors in Houston. He currently serves as board member of Houston Chinese Alliance; Vice President of Sino Professional Association; Coordinator of Houston Chinese Football Association; Grade-7 plus soccer referee; Board member of Jeremy Lin Fan Club Houston. He graduated from Wright State University in Dayton Ohio with Master degree in Computer Science and got his Bachelor degree in Computer Science and Bachelor degree in Finance from University of Science and Technology of China. Brian Liu is committed to improving and creating a better community to live in. Mr. Brian Liu can be reached at

Qiang Tu


Qiang Tu is a Mechanical Engineer currently working on Subsea Structures and ROV Tools design. Graduated from Syracuse University in Mechanical Engineering, he mainly concentrates on CAD design and FEA with Inventor&Solidworks. Because it took him a long time to find his first job, he has a deep understanding of how important networking is in the process of job search and career path, so he would like to do his best to help build a large social platform to help Chinese Professionals connect to each other. Xin Guo

Xin Guo, working as a control system engineer at Bechtel OG&C from 2012 and certified as Functional Safety Specialist by the International Society of Automation. Founded a consulting company providing functional safety and other technical support. Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Houston and Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Zhejiang University. Chair of Zhejiang University Alumni Association in Houston and Chair of Asian-Pacific Subcommittee of Diversity Advisory Council (DAC) of Bechtel in 2014.
